Our Mission
We encourage and empower current and future women pain leaders to realize their professional and personal goals. We do this through a commitment to mentoring, supporting, educating, training and developing future influencers within our field.
WIPM was founded in 2019 by a small group of female physicians who recognized the under representation of women in the field of pain management. As a whole women represent 18% of all pain physicians. The goal of this organization is to be a stand alone entity who can act as the collective voice for women in pain management.
Our Goals
To promote women in the field of pain management through professional growth and development.
To offer support and collaboration for research initiatives in order to develop a strong scientific foundation in the field of pain management.
To enhance communication between female pain physicians, scientists, engineers and practitioners.
To support diversity of thought in the management of pain conditions.
To continue to improve the quality of care provided to patients and to establish the highest standards in regards to treating pain patients.
